Nat Geo PosterProfessor Laurel Bestock and her Uronarti Regional Archaeology Project are featured in the documentary, "Drain the Oceans: Egypt's Lost Wonders," premiering on the National Geographic Channel on Monday, July 9, 2018, at 9:00pm EST.  The Uronarti Regional Archaeology Project is working to document a major fortress constructed by the kings of the Egyptian Twelfth Dynasty on an island in the Nile in Lower Nubia (modern Sudan), as well as the remains of human activity outside it, to better comprehend its setting in a complex physical and cultural landscape, and to illuminate the relationships between Egypt and Nubia at the edges of their worlds.
