Faculty and students of the Joukowsky Institute actively publish research in a variety of venues, ranging from single- and multi-authored volumes, peer-reviewed journals, field reports, digital and multimedia projects, to the Institute's own publication series, Joukowsky Institute Publications (JIP). JIAAW also produces a semi-annual newsletter, "Inventory", and sponsors an annual contest for student writing.
Faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral students in the Joukowsky Institute regularly publish their research in single- and multi-authored texts, as well as journals. This page features a selection of those publications.
Editions of the Inventory newsletter speak to the Joukowsky Institute's numerous field projects, pedagogic resources, and ties with other departments, programs, and colleagues at Brown University, as well as the JIAAW's international connections.
The Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World's publication series, Joukowsky Institute Publications (JIP), is focused on dissemination of the results of conferences and workshops held under the Institute’s aegis, on fieldwork reports and other scholarly studies by faculty associated with the Institute, and on the publication of archaeological material in Brown collections.
The Institute’s predecessor, the Center for Old World Archaeology and Art (COWAA), published the series, “Archaeologia Transatlantica”, which has now ceased production.
