At its May 2025 meetings, Brown University’s Corporation approved the appointment of Joukowsky Institute faculty member Laurel Bestock to the position of Joukowsky Family Associate Professor of Archaeology and the Ancient World and Egyptology and Assyriology, and JIAAW Director Andrew Scherer as Pierre and Patricia Bikai Professor of Anthropology and Archaeology and the Ancient World.
