Dr. Laurel Bestock, Associate Professor of Archaeology and the Ancient World and Egyptology and Assyriology, and Associate Professor of History of Art and Architecture, has been been selected to receive the John Rowe Workman Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Humanities for 2018. Bestock is currently teaching two courses, including ARCH 1630 Fighting Pharaohs: Ancient Egyptian Warfare, which will culminate in the students' reenactment of the Battle of Kadesh on Brown University's Quiet Green.
