Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World

Department Undergraduate Group (DUG)

The Department Undergraduate Group (DUG) of the Joukowsky Institute is a collection of students, including concentrators and non-concentrators, interested in archaeology — often referred to as the Dig DUG.

DigDUG at HalloweenThe group invites all students who enjoy archaeology to get together several times each semester to share information on courses, fieldwork, or events; to visit museums and local collections; or to watch movies and eat popcorn. The DUG also sponsors a mentorship program, matching up any interested undergraduate student with an Archaeology graduate student mentor.

To contact the current Dig DUG leaders, email: DIGdug@brown.edu. If you would like to be kept informed of Dig DUG events, you can ask the leaders to add you to the Dig DUG listserv.
